It takes just over an hour to drive Turunc to Akyaka. Once there, we stop to look at the rock tombs on the outskirts of the village. Once in Akyaka, you have 4 to 5 hours free time to explore this traditional Turkish holiday village, or simply relax on the sandy beach and swim in the crystal clear water. The sea is shallow until quite far out and so is ideal for children or for the adults who just fancy a paddle.
The village is surrounded by stunning mountain views, and the pretty Azmak river flows out from the sea. The river waters are deep, and crystal clear enough to see the amazing colours on the river bed. The area is populated by many interesting bird species.
